Great question – we know this part can be a bit confusing. If you’ve chosen anonymity, Ethena will not make your name and/or email address visible in the Ethena platform in connection with a report. Here’s how we do that while allowing for admin-reporter communications:

If you opt-in to follow-up but out of sharing your identity, we’ll send you a link via email to a secure, Ethena-directed portal which will allow you to send and receive messages – without those messages being associated in the Ethena platform with your name or email.

This means neither your email nor Ethena can see your name or email when viewing your report or any encrypted communications within our platform, which allows you to maintain your anonymity while communicating through the platform.

Two reminders, however: (1) the level of detail you share about an incident is up to you. So if anonymity is your aim, be aware that sharing certain details could be unintentionally revealing; and (2) while we take our responsibility to preserve anonymity very seriously, there could be circumstances in which we are required by law to provide identifying information about an anonymous reporter (e.g., your email, if provided), such as in response to a subpoena or court order.
